The Communication Passport Service in North Wales would like to give the Moondance Foundation a huge thank you for their generous donation which enabled us to continue providing this valuable and much needed service to the children and young people of Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, and Gwynedd.
From the 1st June 2023 to 31st May 2024, we were able to produce thirty new communication passports for children and young people with communication difficulties and without the support of the Moondance Foundation we could not have done it. THANK YOU!
Here is a sample of some of the feedback from parents and carers, whose children have received a communication passport through funding from the Moondance Foundation:
“It can be overwhelming to explain to every person how my child communicates, by having the passport it takes the stress and the upset away from verbally explaining to multiple people about how my son struggles.”
“If someone is meeting him for first time, it gives them an opportunity to get to know my child’s needs quickly.”
“It has all his complex information in one place.”
“The carers know him better. When talking about specific subjects he’s interested in, he will engage better and more often.”
“He responds to new people better because they know his favourite songs, toys and foods which makes him feel safer.”
“I think it’s great and every child with ASD would benefit from one.”
“Just thankful we have it.”
“Everyone I’ve spoken to really loves it. It’s come in handy so many times”.
“It’s a great service which has helped my daughter immensely. I hope it continues to help and support other families.”
